Beaconhouse is very pleased to offer advanced placement courses for university entrance. Advanced Placement (AP) courses are university courses that you take in high school and are the equivalent to first-year university courses. With a good exam mark, you will get credit for these courses and not have to take them in your first year of university!
Once you complete an AP course, you will take a standardized exam for it. The results of that exam are submitted when you apply to a university. A good AP exam result shows you have sufficiently learned the required subject material, and you can get credit for that subject before you even start your university studies.
Beaconhouse offers the following AP courses:
Calculus AB Physics B Chemistry Biology
At Beaconhouse, we have always worked with students in small groups, which gives AP students an significant edge over the large, impersonal class environments that are found at the university level.
Most Canadian universities will give credit for 2 AP courses, possibly more. A list of Canadian universities that accept AP courses for consideration can be found at: http://www.ap.ca/pages/04_AP_policies.htm
For the most up-to-date information, please contact the admissions office of the specific university you are applying to.
Beaconhouse's AP college number is 826838
